Example of a Resolution:

2021-1 ENDORSEMENTS AND PARTY UNITY.
WHEREAS, since the Republican Party of Wisconsin reintroduced the endorsement process in
2009, all candidates who received an endorsement have won the primary election.
WHEREAS, primary victors emerge battered and lacking funds with only 12 weeks until the
general election. This gives Opposition Parties an advantage because they normally settle their
differences long before the primary and their candidates can focus on the general election.

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Republican Party of Eau Claire County (RPECC), in
caucus assembled, requests all candidates for statewide or congressional office to respect the
Republican Party endorsement process.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the RPECC, in caucus assembled, asks for assurance from
prospective candidates that should another candidate receive the party’s endorsement by
achieving 60% of the endorsement vote, the losing candidate will terminate their campaign.
Candidates who offer the party this assurance will receive the full support of the RPECC.
Candidates who refuse to give their assurance will not receive this support
